Adams County Schools Service Center Water System Upgrade

Tetra Tech RTW conducted a water system study to determine whether the private system should be upgraded onsite only or whether the site should be annexed to the City of Thornton. The study concluded that existing storage was insufficient and the existing pumps and pipeline were too small to meet fire protection requirements. Tetra Tech RTW designed onsite water system improvements:

• 400,000-gallon above-ground steel water storage tank
• An adjacent pump station that included a 100-gpm package booster pump station, a 2,000-gpm diesel-driven fire pump, associated piping, and a pre-engineered building
• Miscellaneous site improvements
• 18" and 24" watermain extensions from the City of Thornton.
